A Cure For The Cold

Hooray, we've just had our first snow! It all melted in the morning and I couldn't take any pictures, but still... better to have a winter full of snow than three months of dull oppressive skies! The freezing temperature can only mean one thing: watch out for the common cold! So I already prepared a big jar of homemade honey from the flowers of acacia trees. And now some tea to go with that honey.

The natural remedies are always the best, so I prepared some seabuckthorn and some hawthorn. They are rich in vitamin C (about 10 times the concentration of the same vitamin in a lemon) and help the body to built a strong barrier against weaknesses and to fight the common cold. The berries will dry in the oven: preheat the oven, stop the flames, put the berries on a tray inside and let them "roast" slowly in the remaining heat. Grind the dried berries and use 1 or 2 teaspoons of powder to make a cup of ultra-rich vitamin tea :)

    1. So sorry to hear you're sick, please get well soon! I got my berries at the local market (from villagers) but we can also buy them in the supermarket (from organic farms).

Finally, did you get snow. Slightly colder now, so get it in peace on the ground.

    1. Aaah, thank you for the link, I bookmarket it for future shopping. I'm crazy in love with retro organic lamps in cool colors! Some years ago, I bought a beautiful red one before from Kartel (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kartell-Ceiling-Suspension-Light-Transparent/dp/B0052WXDJQ) but a very tall friend banged it with his head and broke it :)))
