We are one week into December and my Halloween gallery is still up on the wall. I don't really mind, because it gives a good sexy vibe to the room. Besides, in my family nobody puts up the Christmas decorations until the 22nd of December (if you're diligent an you celebrate St. Steven) or until the 24th (because the tradition here is to put the tree up on Christmas Eve, not a day earlier). I mean, my father would be utterly confused if he knew that I planned for everything to be ready this very weekend (Christmas tree included)...
On the coffee table, a white washed wooden bird house makes a first step towards a winter mood. It goes well with the neon pumpkin, as they are both snow white. All i need is more candles :) I am also happy to report that I ditched the black shag rug and put the ethnic beauty in its place. The black rug just isn't "me" anymore. Anyway, with the black and white art, the traditional rug and the light blue touches, everything is cheery again!
Oh I do hate to see this go...but I'm looking forward to what's next!
ReplyDeleteDanni you're too sweet... but I already have prepared something wintery, of course!
DeleteI love these colors! Beautiful. My parents also put our tree up on the 24th. Here most people have all the decorations up already.
ReplyDeleteCurious to see what is next, although your halloween wall is gorgeous!
i think you definitely won in the best halloween decor, it was so wonderfully simple and classy. can't wait to see what happens with the christmas decor. oh, you must begin a movement to get the tree up before christmas eve, that would be just too long to wait! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely words, Christine! Actually, I don't mind if I put the tree up just a few days before Christmas, because I leave the decorations up all the month of January (and to tell you the truth, last year I took down the tree on the last day of February)
Deletetraditionaly, we don't decorate christmas tree before 24th, but I can't resist it! I am off to woods this weekend, if weather permits!
ReplyDeletecan't wait your new decor!
I want to go to the woods, too! We had out first (small) snow, maybe the wood shrubs will be white!
DeleteWe decorate the tree December 23.
ReplyDeleteBut we have already bought a Christmas tree, which is out now.
It's so cold!
So it will be out for a few days before decorating.
I'm looking forward to it ;)
Kilim rug is perfect for the white couch!

Noe I feel much better, you have the same tradition! All my American friends have already finished decorating, which confuses me a little... and in the supermarket the Christmas ornaments were on the shelves on the 15th of October already :)))
DeleteOh, I just love your Halloween decor! Especially that ghost. Spoooky ;)
ReplyDeleteI usually put my Christmas tree up late too, and then I leave it up past New Year's, but this year I decided to decorate early and got a tree over the weekend. Hopefully it will still have needles by Christmas.
This is why my parents also decorate the tree as late as possible, because they always buy a real tree and they want it to smell fresh for Christmas days :) I hope your tree will be fine, as well :)
DeleteQuick question... do you have a trick for putting up seasonal art like that so that you don't keep putting nail holes in the wall?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, THAT is a good question! As you can see, I've got 5 frames and for every season I keep the Picasso intact and I change all other 4 prints according to my decor theme. I usually print them on the cheap so it's not a big deal. But, under the top frame and under the long one there are 3 hidden nails, just in case I need to use smaller frames :)
DeleteI also painted the nails white, not to be an eye sore.
Mehha I love Kilim rug is perfect for the white couch and the little turquoise refrigerador . All is beatifull!!! Love your decoration

ReplyDeleteThanks a million, Tami, you are so sweet! The rug is traditionally woven in the mountains in my country :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa! It's a little too crowded, but I'm glad that you like it :)
