Before and after: Pink coffee tables

Difficulty: easy-peasy;
Time to complete: 30 minutes;
Budget: 12 euros;
What I love the most: that it can easily be undone, if you hate the final outcome;
Would I do it again: of course! In about 6 weeks or so, this little beauty is going to turn lime green :)

Remember my clear Lucite coffee tables in the turquoise living room? I wanted a pair of these for years, but I always thought they were too expensive. Than I finally got them (now that's a long story...) and they made me happy for a year and a half...

But I tend to get bored with the same environment. Besides, winter was approaching and I tend to get really depressed during the cold-grey-sky months. I added some pink translucent adhesive film and then my coffee tables were... PINK!
Instant color boost!

Quick tutorial:
1. Clean all the surfaces thoroughly
2. Sprinkle some water on the surface you want to personalize
3. Carefully apply the adhesive film. Press slowly in order to remove any air bubbles. Start from the middle and continue towards the edges.
4. Pay extra attention to the corners, as they are most likely to be trouble for any adhesive.

If you live in a small place and need to edit a lot, or if you like to redecorate quite frequently (on a budget!), or if you get easily bored - I strongly recommend the power of clear furniture. You can keep it as it is for an uncluttered room. Or you can personalize it in your favorite color, pattern, trompe l'oeil etc.

BONUS PIC: Any coffee table can be the star in the bedroom, as well (you can read more about the purple bedroom here). Look at my lovely bedside table:

PS: For spring, I need to change again the color scheme in the living room. I am going to rip off the pink film and replace it with an intricate lime green design. To be continued...

UPDATE: Happy happy joy joy! Someone loves my little project! I've been featured at Christinas AdventuresA Glimpse InsideCedar Hill RanchRomance on a Dime and 504 Main by Holly Lefevre. Thank you so much, it means the world to me :)

    1. Thank you, Danni! I've worked with adhesive film before and it's like a sticker, really. It stays put, but you can easily peel it off when you want to get rid of it. If there are glue marks, you can remove them with an alcohol solution. The only thing (and also improbable to happen) is not to keep them in very cold temperatures, in which case the glue will never give in.

    1. Hi, I don't know your name but welcome to my blog. Some of my best supporters are non-blogger readers:) I'm happy you like the look, feel free to replicate it and maybe send me a picture. I made the tables myself (bought the lucite from one company, cut and bent it at another company, smoothed the edges at another one) but you can buy them several places, in glass or lucite finish.
      The first that come to mind are these: http://www.cb2.com/accent-tables/furniture/peekaboo-clear-nesting-tables-set-of-three/f117. Cheers!
