Traditional Christmas Inspiration

No, I haven't lost my sanity. Yet! I am not panicking about the Christmas rush. Yet... I am certainly NOT happy that the Christmas decorations have invaded half the shelves at my local supermarket. I am just fishing for some inspiration for the holidays. I hope I get in the mood before the last days of December :)) Being lazy as I am, there is a strong chance that I might not get to make the preparations in due time. And that would be a shame (for a blogger).

My email this morning brought wonderful news from the Ornament Swap back at Tutus And Teaparties. My swap partner is lovely Stephanie from Toastie Studio and I am so excited that I get to make a Christmas  ornament just for her! So I gathered some stuff that would put me in the mood for a traditional Xmas in red and white. I hope this works :)

    Christmas should be red.
I'm probably like you, waiting with Christmas preparations at the last minute;)

    1. Janne, you've got the first snow so it's easier for you to get in the mood :))) Last year I started making a crochet pillow for Christmas and I haven't finished it even now, so you understand how much I can postpone everything :))))

    1. Thank you, Christine! The little red thing is a home-made one-flower vase. Tutorial coming soon, if you're interested :)

    2. oh, yes! i can't wait. it has such a folk art look to it. (which i love because i think it always has a modernism to it as well, no matter how old it is.)

    3. I thought of this as modern, but now I can see the folk art inspiration, too :))

  6. I am not too keen on starting with the Christmas decorations either (especially because it has 30 degrees outside...), but your inspiration is so pretty! Love the little carusell (guess that is not an english word, but hope you know what i mean :-) ).

    1. We say carousel in Romanian as well, Jutta and I think the Americans say merry-go-round. When I was little I never had one and as you might have guessed I am crazy in love with it now, too <3
