Monday Booster: Minimalist Window Seat

Although you can see green leaves out in the garden, this pic is just perfect for my late October Monday booster. I am drawn to this minimalist window seat with fluffy seating and the simplest fire place there is! I love the clean, soothing neutral lines, accented by the warm pops of color. Monday Booster: Inspiration Wall

That's it! I'm moving to Sweden! I'm gonna rob a bank, buy a huge old villa, paint everything white and hire designer Marie Olsson Nylander to make it both cozy and fabulous. Look what she has done in her own home! New and old, beautiful imagery, clear Lucite and dark wood, wonderful texture mix! And that is only one of the many rooms of her amazing home... Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy a mask and a black overcoat!

Monday Booster: The Weird Cabin And The Bare Trees

Phew, I almost didn't make it for the inspirational Monday pic! Really, I feel energized by yesterday's lovely wedding, but still... Today there's a gloomy sky and a cold, cold wind. We can't stop time, Autumn is here and soon all the beautiful leaves will be gone for 5 dreadful months (sorry, I am weather dependent and the winter grays are killing me!) If only I could be Butch Anthony and live on his rustic - glam - weird home! With a wooden cocoon and surprising art, I wouldn't mind the bare trees out the window at all! One thing bothers me a little: is that a crow I spy on the decaying chandelier...?

Monday Booster: Happy Whites

I can't believe the genius decor in Susanna Ventu's home, shot for Dwell Magazine by the talented Petra Bindel! Have you ever seen an all white interior, so happy and playful? And this is the main bedroom, not the children's room:) I need the big white desk right now, the neon light bulb cluster and I also HAVE to take a nap on that fluffy bed! I bet that's a memory foam mattress...

Monday Booster: Pink SMEG!

Two friends of mine have just bought the loveliest little cottage, hidden in a beautiful garden. I am helping them design their new home and right now we are focusing on the kitchen. They've got great taste and we've already decided to go with natural finishes, a combination of white and wood, open shelves and maximum counter space. The kitchen challenge was a good opportunity for me to go through my extensive collection of inspirational pics and I can't get my mind off this simple kitchen with bright accessories spotted on The Decorista. The great little SMEG is the jewel of this space. What can I say - adorable!

PS: Of course, for today's budget, any SMEG is out of our reach. But on the bright side, I've done a little research and things are a little disappointing. They may look wonderful with their retro look and their curves, but the technology is classic. That means you have to defrost them twice a year, just like my mom used to do. And since No Frost refrigerators have been invented, I can't go back technology - wise.

Monday Booster: It's All About The Textiles

September is still incredibly warm here in Romania, I am the happiest girl alive because I can't stand cold days at all. But it's no longer exasperatingly hot, it's just... perfect! I've finally been able to use a little throw at night, to cuddle under it in my bed, so warm textiles are all over my mind right now. Today's inspiration comes from the beautiful shop The Family Love Tree. Although their main specialty is wicker, they also master patterns and colors like no other. I love the bold turquoise next to the subdued earth colors. 

This is exactly what I'm planning to do in the living room - there will be a mix of soft summer blues (a reminder of the beachy days) and vivid burnt oranges, to welcome Fall properly.

Monday Booster: The Selfish Room

Today I fell in love with this beautiful black and white TV room from Lonny and its selfish furnishings. How many of us can afford to lose the couch and splurge on a one-person chaise? With just a single beautiful-but-not-so-comfortable chair for just ONE other visitor? Maybe I just crave a little privacy and a 24 hour "me" time and that's why I find this comfortable chaise lounge so appealing. Most girls dream of a huge bathroom with all its spoils - I say give me a TV room like this and forget the bathtub :))  I could just crawl on the furry pillows (looooooooove them!), lying back with my feet up... 

On a different note, let's sit back for a moment and admire the airy feeling, the slim lines and the striking art. The owner has got a personal taste and is not afraid to show it! I also like the contrast between the sleek, austere items (the TV stand, coffee table and window tables) and the high-end touches, full of texture (the cow skin, the basket and the fab lamp collection). Sigh...

Monday Booster: Incredible Storage

The "blogging effect", in my case, could be described as an involuntary hoarding phase. I've been collecting lots of junk, which I will transform one day into beautiful projects. Until then, I'm seriously considering getting additional storage to my tiny home, since old lamps, silly vases and lots of paint supplies take up a lot of space. So I was completely blown away by this creative storage solution from a lovely house tour spotted on  the New York Times page. The fact that you can only see half of it makes me love it even more, because I have to use my imagination to complete the picture. This is the loveliest, most inventive and efficient storage system I've seen in a while. And if you take the tour, you'll find that this house, filled with bold personal touches, is in fact a prefab container home. Who would have guest?

Monday Booster: Vitamin Colors!

Nothing better than this vitamin cocktail from the talented photographer Siren Lauvdal to boost my energy! The pairing of blonde wood with happy pinks and oranges is genius. And the composition features so many clever ideas: a super minimalist single light bulb paired with a cluster of vintage art, another cluster of white pottery next to the multicolored blooms and my personal favorite - the juxtaposed rugs in geometric designs.

I hate Mondays worse than Garfield, but tomorrow is a new day and I am ready to tackle some fall projects in juicy hues. After all, Halloween is just around the corner...

Monday Booster: That Stone Wall!

Just like Garfield, I hate Mondays. I hate them. Because I have to go to work, to my real job. So I thought I should use my blog in a productive way. I will post each Monday an inspirational pic which will lift up my spirits. Today I fell in love with the stone wall in this chic French dining room from Cote Maison. Of course, it had to be French!  

I love everything in this photo: the black background wall against the earthy stone color and the beautiful gray tones of the aqua table runner. The tall sloped ceiling with those strong wooden beams, painted white. The genius mix of texture, from different woods to stone, linen and metal. Even the cluster of plain plastic water bottles works here. Oh, and those black industrial suspensions? Ikea :)
